Mercedes CL 63 – HRE 798R & Renntech V3 Lowering Module

Here is a repeat customer that came to us with a blank canvas so to speak. This customer is an avid enthusiast that has owned many car recently such as Porsche GT3 RS  Mercedes CLK63 Black Series to name a few. He was looking for something clean yet slightly aggressive to set his SL63 apart from the rest so we decided to start of by adjusting the stance.

So we decided to go with the Renntech V3 lowering module because we have used all the versions of their lowering modules with great success and customer satisfaction. For this vehicle we chose Renntech’s newest lowering module that has some new and improved features built in.

The DLM V3 offers the same features as its earlier versions, but has many improvements. We have lowered the unit’s power consumption by 50%. The DLM still requires no wire splicing or soldering, but now sports even less wiring. Installation time is down to approximately 20-30 minutes.

The Mercedes specific DLM V3 also supports speed-lowering that allows the vehicle to return to its factory ride-height at a pre-set speed. This removes the need for the vehicle to be aligned after lowering and allows the factory speed lowering to still occur as normal. The user can maintain the factory longevity and still have the lowered look at low speeds!

These Lowering Modules are 32-bit Windows compatible. Simply hook the module up to your laptop or PC and adjust your settings with the click of a mouse.

The DLM V3 is also offered with an optional 7” Touch-Screen remote that allows the user to make changes to ride-height settings on-the-fly!

Now that we had the ride height adjustable to our preference we went looking for a good quality clean looking set of wheels that would be able to flow well with the new face lifted version of the SL. An obvious choice for us was a set of HRE 798R’s for this vehicle.  HRE wheels are manufactured with the highest QC we have ever seen in the industry hands down. The fitments, color options, engineering, materials used, and dedication to customer service keeps customers that have bought a set of HRE’s coming back time and time again. The customer chose to have his 789R’s in a Brushed center with a polished outer lip. After setting the drop on the car right on the tire front and rear the car is completely different from when it drove in to the shop.

The Sustec Tower Bar has been very popular due to its low price and high functionality. By connecting the strut towers, and creating a balance, the shocks are prevented from independently moving and causing small changes in suspension geometry.

DBA Press Release – Performance Brake Rotors for the Nissan GT-R

DBA_5000-series

DBA proudly introduces the latest addition of performance brake rotors for the exciting new Nissan GT-R.

The Nissan GT-R has been the dream car of many American enthusiasts since it was introduced in the Gran Turismo series of video games. Much like the virtual machine, the new Nissan GT-R seems to defy the laws of physics. This is one of the fastest, best handling street-legal cars available.
Take a look at the performance numbers and you’d swear they belong to a European exotic with a triple-digit price tag. Sixty mph is reached in less than 3.5 seconds, top speed just shy of 200 mph, cornering in excess of 1g and braking from 60 to a standstill in less than 110 feet. Additionally the GT-R pulls 1.3 Gs on the track. Without question, this car is the real deal!

Under the hood is a hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 480 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The sequential 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also hand built, and can be operated in automatic mode or shifted via paddles on the steering column. With triple-digit speeds mere seconds away, suitable brakes become a high priority. The GT-R gets its stopping power from Brembo mono-block calipers (sixpiston up front and four-piston rears) gripping cross-drilled 15-inch rotors.

At nearly 200 mph, you need ultimate stopping power. DBA insures ultimate performance when you need it the most!
